Also in the Caption Art Auction this coming Saturday is the above piece, contributed by Andrew Cheverton on this year’s convention theme of ‘austerity’. It is based on the quote “When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes,” from Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus.

All proceeds from the auction go to the Caption Warchest, ensuring that the not-for-profit convention for creators and readers of the British small press and indy comic scene can continue to provide such a relaxed and beneficial event for the UK scene.

Above is a page of Warwick Johnson Cadwell’s original art for Fort Eyrie, as seen recently in the pages of West: Stray Bullets. Warwick is selling pages of this strip - as well as other pages of singularly striking art - here, for what can only be described as exceedingly reasonable prices.

The Sorry Entertainer fundraiser continues, edging past the halfway mark with sixteen days to go. The picture above is a panel from the page of art which I have contributed as a donator incentive (I can’t post the full page, or it would spoil the story). £35 gets you the fully inked A3 piece, plus four random comics from The Sorry Entertainer contributors, ten copies of the Sorry Entertainer Newspaper, and your name in print. You can’t beat that with a stick. To contribute to the fund and claim your reward, please visit the Indie GoGo page here.

At this year’s Bristol International Comic and Small Press Expo, West artist Tim Keable sold two pieces of original West art to a couple of avid younger fans - who were kind enough to send us this picture of the two pictures framed and on the wall. On the left, we have an unused cover for the West: Justice hardback, and on the right, the line art for the limited edition of the Texas Drama issue. Click-through for a higher resolution image.
