Caption 2011

Caption is “a comics festival held in Oxford every summer since 1992”, a gathering of comic creators and readers in an incredibly informal setting - with a bar. Check out the Caption website for more details of guests, panels, activities and whatnot. Tim and I will be there on the Sunday most likely, although it’s possible that one or the other of us may make the Saturday also. I shall be premiering my new comic Pictures Made of Light at the event, and we both have contributions in the Art Auction taking place on the Saturday evening.

The artwork for Pictures Made of Light has been uploaded to the printers. Just waiting for a proof to be generated to see which bits I’ve mucked up… Because the comic is partly about cinema, I switched from printing it as a CD booklet and opted for the far more obvious choice of DVD booklet. It’s about 120mm by 180mm, so slightly smaller than an A5 mini-comic. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

This is a panel from the upcoming one-off comic Pictures Made of Light, which I am currently toning. I’m toying with the idea of printing it as a CD booklet sized mini-comic, but it may be too long for the format. We’ll see. All being well, it should be out in time for Caption in August.
